Old homes need well assessment , cause they can be hazardous to our health like smoking and radon which consider as risk factor and cause cancer, old home which built before 1940 have lead paint which consider risk factor if ingested by children and pets and also can affect the gardens as well. Living in basement have risk factors like lack of light ( sunlight exposure) which helps to kill many kinds of bacteria, decrease the humidity, sterilize the area, lack of proper ventilation in the basement helps bad smell, humidity, in addition the basement will provide attraction for bugs and spiders.
