Dallas roads

Dallas Amtrak

I am really enjoyed reading the articles of the transportation, knowing all the benefits of the using public transportation, and the impact of the transportation on public health.
As public health practitioner, we need to share these information, give the community more knowledge about the benefits of public transportation including the level of carbon monoxide, voltile organic compounds, carbon dioxide level that the public transportation produce.
Also, we should encourage the community of use the public health to have more physical activity, and be safer.

Unfortunately, I am living in Dallas, Texas and we don’t have good options for the public transportation and we are limited with one Amtrack and the buses don’t cover all the areas and for that almost all the people are using their own automobiles. I am wondering what is the level of air pollution we have in Dallas that coming from the huge number of the automobiles and what is the effect on our bodies, Are we safe?

  1. Ali I experienced the same situation with public transportation when I moved out to Sacramento. I grew up where there was a lot of public transportation to choose from. We had a lot of choses with buses and trains. It was rare to have a bus or train not cover a certain area. Moving to a place with less public transportation made me worry about how limited my options are. One thing that I did notice was more people walking and riding bikes here compared to where I use to live.
