M8.4 Chemical Policy Reform

Charter describes the six key principles necessary to regulate chemicals and shift the economy to safer products and clean production.  A first step to creating a safe and healthy global environment is a major reform of our nation’s chemicals policy including: require safer substitutes and solutions, phase out persistent, bioaccumulative, or highly toxic chemicals, give the public and workers the full right-to-know and participate, act on early warnings, require comprehensive safety data for all chemicals, and take immediate action to protect communities and workers.

In the list that we create for the chemicals that we are exposed n home, work, school, and community, all the chemicals can cause harm effect on our bodies, and environment, so comparing to charter for safe chemicals, we need to reform the policy and take immediate action, find substitute, and give the right to public and workers to know and participate in choosing the chemicals.
