AL AQEELI ( Clean Air)
Clean Air
According to Air Now, clean air is the air that has no
harmful level of pollutants (dirt and chemicals) in it, clean air is good
for people to breathe(1). The average adult breathes over 3,000
gallons of air every day. Children breathe even more air per pound of body
weight and are more susceptible to air pollution (2).
According to the World Health
Organization (WHO), 92% of the world’s population in 2014 was living in areas
where WHO air quality guidelines were not met; in addition, outdoor air
pollution caused 3 million premature deaths in 2012, mostly in low- and
middle-income countries in the Western Pacific and Southeast Asia(3)
Many people
around the world are live in areas where they have high level of pollutants
include (chemicals, dirt, and
toxins) which have harmful impact on the public health. Air pollutants can
cause burning sensation in eye, irritation, respiratory problems and even
cancer and damage to the reproductive system, neurological system, and
reproductive system on long-term.
Causes of air pollution:
1-
Burning of fossil fuels
2-
Agricultural activities
3-
Exhaust from factories and industries
4-
Mining operations
5-
Indoor air pollution
Outdoor clean air:
Air pollution can be reduced by:
1-
Use of public transportation
2-
Conserve energy
3-
Reduce, reuse, and recycle
4-
Use of clean energy resources
5-
Use of energy efficient devices
Indoor clean air:
The ways to have indoor air
quality are:
1-
Increase ventilation
2-
Install high efficiency particulate air filter
3-
Use air conditioner
4-
Ban smoking
